Yoga Philosophy & Iyengar Inspired Practice| Friday October 11 - Monday October 14

with Professor Edwin Bryant, Colleen Herman, & Robert Lindsey

This upstate weekend features meditation, philosophical textual study, and Iyengar inspired yoga practice. Professor Bryant will teach three seminars on Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras, a Sanskrit text, which he translated and wrote an original commentary on. Colleen will teach three different Iyengar Yoga style workshops: all levels welcome, (headstand and shoulder stand will be practiced). Robert will facilitate three open-sit meditation mornings. It's a packed weekend of offerings, and everything is optional.

Engage the landscape and lounge areas during downtime: swim, hike nearby trails, bicycle or stroll the extensive grounds, cozy up in a reading nook, play records, bask around bonfires. Guests enjoy 3 innovative vegetarian meals each day prepared by Chef & Farm Director Davis Lindsey, formally of Blue Hill and the Stone Barns Center.

Edwin Bryant is a Professor of Indian Religions at Rutgers University. He earned his PhD from Columbia University in India Languages and Cultures and taught at Harvard University for three years before joining the Rutgers faculty. He has authored and edited eight books and published numerous articles in scholarly journals. His translation and commentary of Patañjali’s Yoga Sūtras has become the standard work on the popular 4thCE text. ColleenHerman is an artist, creative director, and yoga teacher based in New York. She has taught yoga for over ten years and is training in the Iyengar method. Robert Lindsey is the Director of Yoga Philosophy & History at Yoga Vida, Adjunct in Hinduism at Rutgers University, and partner at Lundy Farm. Fall Abundance Weekend | Thursday October 24 - Sunday October 27

with Rebecca Hajek @rebecca-hajekyoga and Lindsey Valdez @lvlyoga

This upstate yoga-focused weekend has lots of options for invigorating practice, immersion in nature, and rejuvenating relaxation. Lindsey and Rebecca teach two yoga classes daily; practices include vinyasa and ashtanga-style movement and guided meditations. Optional workshops explore arm balances and inversions. All levels of yoga practitioners are welcome!.

Chef & Farm Director Davis Lindsey prepares farm-grown plant-based meals, which are largely vegan and gluten free. Local cider, craft beer, and Old World wine is available. Enjoy the landscape during downtime : swim, stroll, bicycle hike nearby trails, bask around bonfires, etc. Or curl up with a book or game in one of our many lounging and reading nooks inside the estate.

Bi-coastal best friends Rebecca and Lindsey have been co-leading retreats together for the past 3 years. Their signature joy and enthusiasm are contagious, and their attention to detail in the studio will support and improve your practice.
